Kai Mayu is a German- Peruvian singer-songwriter based in Berlin. Since the beginning of his career, his cultural background has always been an important part of his music.

Due to his parent's jobs, he began travelling the world at a very young age. Peru, Columbia, Costa Rica and Egypt, every country left a mark on the young artist. After graduating from high school in Cairo in 2015, he decided to go back to his hometown Berlin to start studying music.

Inspired by artists such as John Mayer, Chet Faker or Bad Bunny, his songs unite various genres. From melancholic & heartfelt melodies to powerful & vigorous guitar riffs, Kai Mayu invites his listeners to an emotional and unpredictable journey: “A home for the unsettled”.

Kai’s first EP “Diary 1” released in 2019, revolves around self reflected lyrics in an indie rock/alternative genre. In the same year, Kai and his band were invited to play for various festivals such as the “Mit Dir Festival”, “Entropie Festival” and also the “Meeresrausch Festival”.

In 2020, Kai Mayu decided to alternate his music by collaborating with other artists such as Cellxy, with whom he produced his modern pop song “No make believe”. Kai used the pandemic to work on new singles such as “The Unknown” and “Something Real”, a collaboration with Child of the Universe, transitioning from the indie rock genre to modern pop productions. With ‘Something Real’ he also introduced Spanish lyrics to his songwriting and with his following single 'Dame Más Amor' in 2022 he showed even more of his Latin American origin, which is now an integral part of his artistic style.

Kai Mayu’s talent undoubtedly lies in his live performance. Blending profound lyrics and upbeat melodies, he captures the audience’s attention from the beginning to the end. And even though he likes to experiment with different genres, you can be sure he’ll stick to his favourite instrument: the guitar.
